Hardness is one of the important indicators of the quality of silicone. Generally speaking, the higher the rubber content, the lower the hardness. The hardness of silicone is mainly based on the Shore hardness standard, and the tester also uses the Shore hardness tester. The hardness varies from 0 to 100 degrees, depending on the function of the product used. Silicone products have different hardnesses according to the process, and the process has two kinds of liquid-solid process.

Liquid silicone process can be used to make "low grade" silicone rubber products, such as 0 to 20 degrees, even if you get it on hand, it is very sticky. These silicone products are usually rare, and developing a set of liquid silicone molds is particularly expensive. For a few, it usually costs tens of thousands of dollars. Most liquid processes are carried out at around 10 to 20 degrees. For some silicone rubber products made with liquid technology, silicone products made with liquid technology are not easily self-removable and can cause problems with unsmooth edges due to the material. Therefore, the liquid process is suitable for low-times silicone products, which do not require very strict self-assembly. Liquid silicone products are recommended: silicone pacifiers

2. Solid state process, at present, the minimum softness of solid silicone process is about 30 degrees, and the highest degree is 80 degrees, although it can also reach a higher degree, but the failure rate is too high, and the products are very brittle and not easy to disassemble by themselves. Therefore, the optimum softness of the solid process is between 30 degrees and 70 degrees. Softer products cannot be made, but the self-removal edge is better, and the product has a beautiful, burr-free appearance.
